Adaptation for Challenge in Mathematics

This course will look at how learning within a teaching for mastery context can be adapted in order to provide an additional challenge for pupils. We will discuss what we mean by ‘challenge’ and how to identify those pupils who are ready to be challenged further. We will try different strategies that can be applied to the content for different year groups within the primary phase and for different areas of mathematics.  

Outcomes:

• An understanding of what we mean by ‘challenge’ in maths.
• Return to school with strategies that offer all pupils different types of challenge.
