Planning for Success in KS1 Writing

This course will expand on the EEF guidance for improving pupils’ writing skills through Key Stage 1, supporting teachers in planning effectively for progress in their pupils’ writing.

Participants will: 

• Outline the key strategies that build success in the writing process and explore pre-writing and drafting activities to ensure pupils are ready to write when they put pencil to paper .
• Understand the importance of secure transcription skills.
• Understand the importance of small steps teaching to support pupil progress.
