The Hindu Dharma is a key dharmic faith taught in primary schools throughout the UK.  A young religion in terms of adherents this session will enable colleagues to deepen their own learning about the core concepts and how these can be translated into learning activities using ways of knowing and enhancing personal knowledge.  The clear focus of this session is to support teachers in using story, art, music and social sciences to bring the rich diversity of the Hindu Dharma to life in the classroom.

 

Outcomes:

  • To understand how disciplinary knowledge can be used to extend learning of the core concepts of the Hindu Dharma
  • To develop classroom activities from EYFS to KS2 to support the delivery of RE in the classroom.
  • To examine how the worldviews approach can be used to teach about the Hindu Dharma.
