These termly sessions are hosted and led by early reading leads. They are an opportunity to pick up on national and local issues and to work collaboratively together in exploring different themes and issues arising within phonics teaching. All participants have an opportunity to suggest subjects to be discussed and where appropriate external presenters may invited in to support this network.
Outcomes
- To better understand and respond to national and local issues in the teaching of phonics;
- To share and collaborate around significant aspects of the teaching of phonics, be it strategic or operational;
- To provide guidance in respect of subject content, inspections and leadership;
- To support colleagues in specific areas of their SSP delivery
